Plans and more plans

K here.

Tokyo is coming along nicely. We're not there yet, but the plans have definitely been set for us to begin our career there. I've been scoping out people, trying to figure out what the indie film scene is there. The only thing I've conclusively found out is that there is a section in Shinjuku called "Golden Gai", and its where all the musicians, actors, artists and filmmakers hang out.

We're definitely going to be there, although I've heard it can get a bit pricey.

In other news, since we're moving, I think it might be a good idea to start up a new blog to detail our adventures trying to enter the film scene in Tokyo. Neoshop would most definitely still be up-and-running with little tidbits relevant to NEOhio, but I think it might be a good idea to branch out and start up a new blog.

There are a couple of deadlines coming up:

Zoetrope Virtual Studio: Screenplay Competition:

IT ALL STARTS WITH A STORY.

In its first 30 years, American Zoetrope has produced some of the most important films in American cinema. At the core of this success is a steadfast dedication to storytelling. In the words of founding director Francis Coppola, who won his first Oscar for the screenplay of Patton, "The story is the foundation upon which all else is built."

Entry Deadlines & Fees:
Early Deadline: August 1, 2008 ($35)
Deadline: September 2, 2008 ($50)

The winner and finalists will be announced February 3, 2009, at this website.

Down to Two

M.

K. and I are writing furiously. We're narrowed our screenplays down to the one's we think have the most solid, thought out story and dialogue. You can see the titles and our progress on them to your right. K's script is "The Bullpen", and mine is "The Orphan Queen".

We're getting ready for May, with pencils up and fingers crossed.
