Project Selection

The Feature Film Program selects 20-25 projects each year to receive one or more areas of support. A combination of intensive year-round outreach, recommendations from a national network of program alumni, Creative Advisors, film school faculty, film festival staffs, producers, and other film professionals, and an open submissions process yield a pool of applicants from which the program's Fellows are selected. Historically, open submissions have provided roughly half of the total number of projects considered for the Labs.

Pangea Day: May 10th, 2008

M. Here!

So K. and I are helping to organize a Pangea day with another woman in Cleveland, Ohio! We're really excited to be part of this project, and for anyone near Cleveland, we'd love the help!

What Is Pangea Day?

Pangea Day taps the power of film to strengthen tolerance and compassion while uniting millions of people to build a better future.

In a world where people are often divided by borders, difference, and conflict, it's easy to lose sight of what we all have in common. Pangea Day seeks to overcome that - to help people see themselves in others - through the power of film.

On May 10, 2008 - Pangea Day - sites in Cairo, Dharamsala, Kigali, London, New York City, Ramallah, Rio de Janeiro, and Tel Aviv will be videoconferenced live to produce a program of powerful films, visionary speakers, and uplifting music.

The program will be broadcast live to the world through the Internet, television, digital cinemas, and mobile phones.

Of course, movies alone can't change the world. But the people who watch them can. So following May 10, 2008, Pangea Day organizers will facilitate community-building activities around the world by connecting inspired viewers with numerous organizations which are already doing groundbreaking work.
